Youth Participants

At a World Scout Jamboree, youth participants can expect a once-in-a-lifetime experience that blends adventure, cultural exchange, and personal growth. It’s an opportunity to join tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world in a large, temporary “Scout city.”

The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Poland in 2027.

Eligibility and Requirements

    • Age: To be a youth participant, you must have a birth date between July 30, 2009, and July 30, 2013. This age rule is set by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) to ensure all youth have a single opportunity to attend the Jamboree as a participant.
    • Membership: You must be an active member of Scouting America and remain in good standing throughout the event.
    • Inclusivity: The Jamboree is open to all members, regardless of gender, background, or abilities.

Activities and Programs

The Jamboree program is designed to be highly active and educational. While specific activities for Poland 2027 are still being developed, past Jamborees have featured a mix of on-site and off-site events, including:

    • Outdoor Adventures: High-adventure activities such as climbing, zip-lining, and water-based obstacle courses.
    • Global Development Village: Workshops and exhibits that focus on global issues like the UN Sustainable Development Goals, environmental protection, and peace.
    • Cultural Exhibits: Tents and displays representing different countries, where you can learn about their culture, history, and traditions.
    • On-site and Off-site Excursions: Modules that encourage you to explore the local environment and the host city, such as forests, beaches, and historical sites.
    • Ceremonies and Shows: Large-scale events like the opening and closing ceremonies, often featuring live music and performances

Financial Information

The projected cost for youth participants for the 26th World Scout Jamboree is in the range of $6,200-$6,700.

This all-inclusive price is made up of three main components and several other items that are crucial to the experience:

    • Jamboree Fee: This is the core fee paid to the host organization in Poland. At 6,400 PLN, it’s a significant portion of the total price.
    • Airfare: This cost covers flights from major U.S. hubs to Poland. It is a key variable in the final price, as it fluctuates based on the departure city and the high demand during the summer travel season.
    • Pre-Tour: A valuable 4-5 day tour that takes place before the Jamboree begins. This is an essential part of the experience, giving everyone a chance to bond and explore cultural sites.
    • Other Included Items: The fee also covers essential gear and swag (including a duffle bag, a backpack, patches, a tent, and a cot), insurance to keep everyone safe, and a small contingency fund to cover any unexpected costs.
